DRY CLEANING

Other dry cleaners focus on quantity, cranking through as many garments as they can.

We don’t, and nowhere is it as apparent as with the individualized service our customer receive for each of their garments.

You spend a lot on your clothes; don’t you want to protect your investment?

From inspection of each garment to on-the-spot minor repairs, your clothes will receive:

  • Inspection of each garment, or household item, before and after they are cleaned.
  • Special “Pre-Spotting” stain removal.
  • FREE minor repairs to clothing including hems and seams that come loose when dry cleaning.
  • Every item of clothing that we clean is “hand finished” meaning they’re hand-pressed or individually-steamed. This results in noticeably higher-quality, smooth finish and crisper creases. It takes us longer, but the results are worth it if you want to look your best.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY

“I recently had the opportunity to take a tour of The Clean Store with owner Jason Feldman. I was really impressed. Not only is Jason stoked about making sure your clothes and other garments are meticulously cleaned and well cared for, he is a true stewart of the environment. Most dry cleaners use Perchloroethylene or PCE, in the dry cleaning process. PCE is a manmade hazardous solvent made by fusing chlorine and hydrocarbons. PCE is a major source of groundwater contamination, and can persist in drinking water aquifers for hundreds of year. Exposure to PCE is suspected to cause cancer. Jason uses natural biodegradable cleaning solutions that help keep the environment clean and safe. So when you use The Clean Store, you will be keeping your clothes and the environment clean and green!

THE CLEANING PROCESS

While 85% of traditional dry cleaners us a solvent called perchloryene (PREC), we at The Clean Store use hydrocarbon and Professional We Cleaning.

Most other cleaners use PERC, which is considered a carcinogen by the EPA. It is an aggressive cleaner with a strong odor, which can fade the color from fabrics. It could even melt beads and sequins on some garments.

Many people would call us an organic dry cleaner, and what we do organic dry cleaning. However, that is a bit of a misnomer and somewhat misleading. The word “organic” is only regulated in the grocery world. If an item is labeled it has to pass certain growing standards, be pesticide free, non GMO, etc. In the dry cleaning world, strictly speaking organic mean carbon based. Therefore, we prefer to think of The Clean Store as the Greener Cleaner, because we look to our environmental impact in every part of the cleaning process.

Each item that comes through our doors is reviewed for the best cleaning process for that item based on the care label of the item, and our professional experience.

Professional Wet Cleaning is the most environmentally friendly way of cleaning, and accounts for half of the items that we clean. Wet cleaning is generally best of water based stains which account for the majority of stains. The name may sound like throwing items in your home wash, however it is very different. Computerized Wet Cleaning Equipment precisely controls mechanical action, biodegradable detergents and conditioners added, and water used, inject them at specific times during the cleaning cycle. In fact Wet cleaning machines can be set to as few as six revolutions per minute to reduce stress of delicate fabrics.

Our hydrocarbon Dry cleaning process will save your clothes truly clean with no “dry cleaning” smell and your light colored clothing will be whiter and brighter. Dry cleaning uses fluids to remove stains and soils from fabric, and dissolve oils and grease in a way that water cannot. Our hydrocarbon solution is odorless, colorless. It is gentle enough for even the most delicate fabrics, renewing and softening your garment. Even better, our process is earth friendly and 100% biodegradable. We us a safe Hydrocarbon solvent; the same type of hydrocarbons used in the waterless hand sanitizer.
